Terms & Conditions for Firearm Services in California
Clear, transparent policies for safe and compliant firearm transactions
These Terms & Conditions explain how we operate as a licensed California firearms dealer. They are written in plain language to help you understand what to expect when buying, selling, transferring, appraising, or disposing of firearms or ammunition through our business. All services are performed in accordance with California law, federal law, and all applicable regulations.

o ensure safety, privacy, and full compliance with California law, all services are available by appointment only.
This includes:
- Firearm appraisals
- Firearm purchases
- Firearm transfers (PPT and dealer transfers)
- Firearm disposal
- Collection evaluations
- Ammunition audits
- Compliance consultations
Walk – ins are not accepted.
Appointments ensure that each customer receives private, uninterrupted service and that all legal requirements are met without delay or risk
1. General Requirements for All Firearm Transactions
1.1 Identification
All customers must present:
- Valid, unexpired government – issued photo ID
- Additional proof of residency when required by California law (e.g., for handguns or certain long guns)
1.2 Eligibility
You must be legally eligible to possess firearms or ammunition under:
- California law
- Federal law
- Any applicable court orders or prohibitions
We reserve the right to decline service if eligibility cannot be verified.
1.3 Compliance With All Laws
All transactions must comply with:
- California Penal Code
- California Department of Justice (DOJ) regulations
- Federal Firearms Regulations (ATF)
- Local ordinances
We cannot complete any transaction that violates state or federal law.
2. Dealer Record of Sale (DROS) Requirements
2.1 Mandatory Background Check
All firearm transfers require a DROS submission and background check.
2.2 Waiting Period
California requires a minimum 10 – day waiting period before a firearm can be released.
2.3 DROS Fees
State – mandated DROS fees are non – refundable, even if:
- You fail the background check
- You cancel the transaction
- You change your mind
- You become ineligible during the waiting period
2.4 Delays and Denials
We are not responsible for:
- DOJ delays
- DOJ denials
- Incomplete or inaccurate customer information
If denied, the firearm cannot be released under any circumstances.
3. Private Party Transfers (PPT)
3.1 Appointment Required
Both parties must schedule and attend an appointment.
No walk – ins, drop – offs, or third – party deliveries are permitted.
3.2 In – Person Requirement
Both parties must appear in person with valid ID.
3.3 Firearm Eligibility
We cannot process PPTs involving:
- Assault weapons
- Firearms with missing or altered serial numbers
- Prohibited configurations
- Magazines over 10 rounds
- Firearms not legal for transfer in California
3.4 Fees
PPT fees are set by California law and are non – refundable.
4. Firearm Purchases From Customers
4.1 Appointment Required
All firearm purchase evaluations require a scheduled appointment.
4.2 Ownership Verification
You must confirm that you are the lawful owner of the firearm.
4.3 Condition and Legality
We cannot purchase:
- Assault weapons
- Firearms with obliterated serial numbers
- Prohibited configurations
- Firearms that cannot be legally transferred in California
4.4 Final Sale
All purchases from customers are final once the firearm is transferred to us.
5. Appraisals, Collections, and Disposal Services
5.1 Appointment Required
All appraisal, collection, and disposal services require a scheduled appointment to ensure safety and compliance.
5.2 Appraisals
Appraisals are based on:
- Current market conditions
- Legal status
- Condition and completeness
- Appraisals are estimates, not guaranteed purchase offers.
5.3 Collection Purchases
We may purchase entire collections at our discretion.
All items must be inspected for legality before any offer is made.
5.4 Firearm Disposal
Once a firearm is surrendered for disposal:
- The transfer is permanent
- The firearm cannot be returned
- Documentation will be provided confirming the transfer
6. Ammunition Sales and Audits
6.1 Appointment Required for Audits
Ammunition audits are conducted by appointment only.
6.2 Ammunition Eligibility
Ammunition purchases require:
- Valid ID
- A background check
- Compliance with all California ammunition laws
6.3 Unsafe or Prohibited Ammunition
We may decline to accept or dispose of ammunition that is unsafe or prohibited.
7. Storage, Handling, and Safety Requirements
7.1 Safe Handling Demonstration
California requires a safe – handling demonstration before firearm release.
7.2 Locks and Safes
A DOJ – approved lock or safe affidavit is required at pickup.
7.3 Abandoned Firearms
Firearms left beyond the legally allowed pickup window may be:
- Returned to inventory
- Disposed of according to law
- Subject to storage fees
8. Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations
8.1 Firearm Sales
All firearm sales are final once the DROS is submitted.
8.2 Accessories and Non – Firearm Items
Returns may be accepted at our discretion if:
- The item is unused
- The packaging is intact
- You have proof of purchase
8.3 Special Orders
Special orders are non – refundable.
9. Privacy and Confidentiality
We protect your information in accordance with:
- California privacy laws
- Federal firearms regulations
- Industry best practices
We do not disclose customer information except as required by law.
10. Right to Refuse Service
We may refuse service to anyone for:
- Safety concerns
- Suspicious behavior
- Incomplete or inaccurate documentation
- Non – compliance with California or federal law
